Homeopathy and The Consultation

Homeopathy is one of the most widely used systems of medicine in the world. It is a holistic treatment and takes into account the patient's physical and emotional state combined.

In order to find the correct course of treatment for you, during the consultation, as well as asking you about your current problem, I will need to ask you about your past medical history and about many other aspects of your life, such as your emotional state, your energy levels, how you cope with stress, your sleep patterns, appetite etc. With this information, I will then choose the homeopathic remedies best suited to you and your condition.

The remedies are made in homeopathic pharmacies from highly-diluted plant, mineral or animal sources, they are safe and non-toxic (suitable for babies, children and pregnant women), and are taken in tablet or liquid form. They act by stimulating the body's own healing system - a gentle catalyst - and restore physical and emotional equilibrium. They can be taken alongside conventional medicines.

I encourage my patients to let me know their progress, by phone or by email, between appointments. In acute cases, I may talk to you more frequently. I provide free support, and repeat prescriptions if necessary.

Follow-up appointments are usually every 4 weeks until improvement (depending on the problem being treated, typically between 1 and 6 sessions needed), although patients suffering with emotional concerns sometimes choose to see me more frequently.

As you can see, a homeopathic consultation is a deep exploration of many aspects of your life, because all these things may affect your health. Most people will never have done anything like this before. You may find it surprisingly relaxing, surprisingly revealing, and surprisingly tiring. You yourself may see patterns in your health of which you had not been aware.

Many people talk about things they have never spoken of before, and it often helps to have someone to talk to outside your circle of family, friends or colleagues. I can reassure you that all of this is confidential. Your consultation is subject to the UK Data Protection Act 1989.
